Wreck of the Atlantus

The Atlantus was one of a fleet of a dozen experimental concrete ships built during WWI. After the war, the ship was to be part of the docking structure of a ferry service, But, during a storm in 1926, the Atlantus sunk.
Strong currents around the wreck cause many large and attractive pieces of quartz crystal -- Cape May diamonds -- to wash up on Sunset Beach.
